The Ski Orienteering Commission conducted an open meeting for SkiO enthusiasts on June 29th via Microsoft Teams. The summer meeting was well attended with more than 40 persons joining the meeting to hear presentations about the challenges and success of organising the World Ski Orienteering Championships in Estonia earlier in the year, athlete’s expectations for SkiO events and strategic directions and future challenges for the discipline. An informational presentation was given about what to expect at the 2022 World Ski Orienteering Championships in Finland.
The meeting was also guested by representatives of IOF partner FISU who shared information about ski orienteering within FISU and future FISU events. Among these, more detailed information was given regarding the upcoming Winter Universiade 2021 in Switzerland and the 2022 World University Championships in 2022 in the Czech Republic.
