Benham Kvåle and Ludvik – World Champions in Middle distance

After the rest day the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships resumed with a Middle distance. The race was held in the premises of Ebeltoft town, in a very difficult terrain with many wide and single MTB tracks.

In the women’s class, British Emily Benham Kvåle had another perfect day on the course and won her second title of the championships. Czech Veronika Kubinova finished only 5 seconds behind and won one more silver medal. Marika Hara, Finland and Camilla Soegaard, Denmark showed the same time at the finish and shared third position on the podium.

In the men’s group, Czech Vojtech Ludvik had a nearly clean race and won his first individual WMTBOC gold with a comfortable margin over 40 seconds. Silver and bronze went to two Russians: Anton Foliforov finished second, and Sprint champion Grigory Medvedev was third.
