The International University Sports Federation  FISU, have announced the cancellation of the 2020 World University Orienteering Championship that should have taken place in Russia in July.

The notification from FISU:
During this challenging period that most countries are facing today, it is FISU’s duty to make cautious decisions in order to ensure the safety of all people involved in its events. We have been closely monitoring the current situation and have tried so far to react accordingly in the best possible way.
Following the discussions that were held between FISU and the Organising Committee, the situation has been reported and discussed with the FISU Executive Committee.
As a result, we hereby confirm the cancellation of the 2020 World University Orienteering Championship. This has not been an easy decision to make but we truly believe it is the wisest choice in these circumstances.

FISU is working on a possibility to postpone the event to the same period in 2021.
