As previously communicated the European Trail Orienteering Championships 2020 (ETOC), which were to be held May 21-24 in Finland, were not able to be held on those dates due to the ongoing Corona virus (Covid-19) outbreak. The organisers in Finland have investigated the best options for postponement and following consultation have proposed new dates. These have been approved by the IOF Council Event Supervisory Board (ESB).
The new dates for ETOC are July 14-18.
As these dates are still quite early in the summer and may be uncertain based upon further developments, a final decision will be made on May 31. It is of the utmost importance that the event can be held safely and with fairness for all potential participants. These are the only alternative dates available to the organiser in 2020 so if it is not possible to organise on these dates cancellation or postponement of the event to 2021 will be considered.
