The IOF Global Development Commission financially supports development projects of sub-regional groups which contribute to the achievement of the IOF Goals 2022.

Two projects have been supported in 2020:
- The basic foundations of Orientation Sport and its Teaching in Schools (applicant: Federación de Orientación de Costa Rica), with the primary aim “Physical education teachers will be able to apply the basic concepts and techniques of teaching sports guidance in the activities they do with their students at the school level.”
The results of the project is planned to be disseminated to Honduras and Guatemala.
The granted IOF support is 3 353 EUR.
- My School Map (applicant: Belarus Orienteering Federation, together with Russian and Moldavian o-federations), with the following aims: 1. Holding training seminars for school PT teaches about fundamentals of orienteering, as well as teaching methods for orienteering; 2. Organizing orienteering events among schools; 3. Organizing international conference for PT teachers, young coaches, coaches aiming at transfer of international experience working with school-age children (with the invitation specialists from Europe); 4. Popularization of orienteering as a recreational sport.
The granted IOF support is 3 000 EUR.
Two projects have been supported in 2019:
- Orienteering development in Central America and the Caribbean (Applicant: Central American and Caribbean Orienteering Confederation, COCACAO). The project was supported by 2000 EUR.
- Youth Training Academy (YTA) – experienced for newcomers (Applicant: Confederation of Mediterranean Orienteering Federations, COMOF). The project was supported by 4000 EUR.
