The World Orienteering Championships is an important meeting place for IOF member federations and commissions and this weeks WOC in Norway is no exception. The IOF Council will conduct its regular summer meeting. During the week the Foot Orienteering Commission and Ski Orienteering Commissions will be meeting to discuss discipline related issues, the Regional and Youth Development Commission will discuss global development, and the Map and IT Commissions will meet to discuss their work in support to the IOF organisation.
The IT Commission will also organise an Open IT Meeting on Thursday 15 August from 19:00 -21:00, as previously announced. Information link
The main event of the week is the IOF Presidents Conference to be held on Friday 16 August 09:00 – 13:00. The Presidents Conference is held biennially, in years between IOF General Assemblies, and is a forum for information and discussion between the IOF Council and Member Federations about topics of current interest. | Report on the implementation of the new Strategic Directions 2018 – 2022 | President Leho Haldna will update the members on initiatives which have been taken to implement the new Strategic Directions decided at the General Assembly in 2018 |
| IOF Organisation | A presentation and discussion about the current IOF organisation and proposals to improve, including the organisation of educational programmes and the strengthening of development work |
| IOF Competition Program | A follow-up from the Competition Review which was completed for the General Assembly in 2016 and the status of the implementation of the programme changes which were decided then, including remaining challenges. |
| VIP programs at IOF Events | A follow-up from decisions at the General Assembly in 2018 regarding improving VIP programs for invitees and organisers. |
| IOF Governance | A report from the independent governance review carried out by the Global Association of International Sports Organisations (GAISF) and IOF actions to further improve governance including athletes representation and gender balance in the IOF structure. |
| Anti-doping education | Based upon decisions from the General Assembly in 2018, the Presidents Conference participants will get a presentation about Anti-doping education |
