Four nations grab the first gold medals in Lithuania

The first four gold medals went to four different nations, as the European Junior/Youth Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships got underway in Lithuania Thursday morning with the Middle Distance.

In the M20 class, only two seconds divided the winner Hannes Hnilica, Austria from Timothy Blot, France whereas the rest of today’s classes was settled with a greater time difference.

Tilda Palm, Sweden won W20, Eemil Koskinen, Finland was crowned European Champion in M17 and Sofie Stranska, Czech Republic was fastest in W17.

Tomorrow, the senior athletes join the championships as well, when the Sprint Distance is decided for all classes.

First start will be at 10.00 local time (UTC+3) and the high quality Web-TV stream will begin at 10.15.
