Athlete Advisory Group Elections 2021

Information

Everything is now prepared for the initial elections to the Athlete Advisory Groups. The groups are elected for the period up to the IOF General Assembly in 2024, i.e. the next elections will be held in spring 2024.

Below you will find the background of each candidate.

Elections will take place digitally. According to the Terms of Reference, voting shall be open to registered athletes who have participated in a World Championship or World Cup in that discipline in the previous 3 years prior to the date of the AAG election. Since the 2020 season was cancelled, we will go back to 2017 this time. Eligible athletes will receive a link to an electronic form (we will use Survey Monkey) directly to their email registered in Eventor. The form will be tied to the email to prevent multiple votes. The voting is open until July 15, 2021.

If you are eligible to vote but did not receive a link, please check your spam/junk mail folder. If you still can’t find it, please write us an email immediately to kirsty.mcintyre (at) orienteering.sport.

FootO

The FootO AAG will have 5 members. According to the terms of reference, each AAG shall have at least one member from outside Europe and at a minimum two members each of different genders. Therefore, Jan Erik Naess from Canada is automatically elected, as he is the only candidate from outside Europe. Voting will take place for the remaining slots, however note that at least one additional man and two women must be elected.
